Classroom Presentations – LCD Projectors
SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies Division, whose parent company is one of the world's largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, has added two new ultra portable models, the PLC-XU36 and PLC-SU25, both practical solutions for the classroom environment.
Using short zoom lenses, the PLC-XU36 and PLC-SU25 feature a throw ratio of 1.3 -1.6:1 and require only 8.6 to 10.4 feet to produce a 100-inch diagonal image. Switchable D-Sub 15 input/monitor output allows for a second PC input or connection to an external monitor.
The PLC-XU36 and PLC-SU25 feature SANYO’s proprietary light engine with a 200-watt UHP lamp and generate 2000 and 1750 ANSI lumens, respectively. The PLC-XU36 offers an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768, while the PLC-SU25 provides an SVGA resolution of 800 x 600. Both models offer a contrast ratio of 400:1, resulting in remarkable imagery.
Further enhancing the projected image, the new projectors features an Auto Flesh tone circuit which automatically detects and extracts the flesh color portion from source images, ensuring flesh tones appear natural-looking without degradation of other image colors. In addition, the Auto Grayscale circuit adjusts image contrast, allowing for sharper, more solid images.
“Weighing less than 10 pounds and housed in a sleek, durable magnesium alloy cabinet, the PLC-XU36 and PLC-SU25 will fit comfortably on any teacher’s desk alongside the PC,” said Mark Holt, Vice President, SANYO Presentation Technologies. “The projectors offer remarkable brightness and contrast levels while performing like no other units in their class.”
