Mobile Projectors – Bright And Portable
PLUS Vision Corporation of America, the
leader in projector miniaturization technology, announces the brightest,
most portable projector in its family of products, the 2000 lumen, 5.6-pound
U2-X2000. In addition to 2000 lumens of brightness for richly detailed images,
the U2-X2000 XGA projector includes a CompactFlash card insert and presentation
download software, taking ultraportability to a new level by eliminating
the need to carry a PC. The U2-X2000 is based on Texas Instrument's Digital
Light Processing™ and has an MSRP of $6495.
PLUS Vision Corp., the new entity resulting from the January 2002 merger
of PLUS Corp. of America and Lightware, Inc., recently introduced its initiative
to add high lumen machines to its product line while maintaining a small
footprint and light weight. The U2-X2000 is a significant achievement for
PLUS Vision and compliments its existing family of ultraportable projectors
with this high lumen 5.6-pound projector that is both bright and versatile.
"PLUS Vision continues to lead the industry in projection miniaturization,
and now, with the U2-X2000, we demonstrate our ability to bring the brightness
of our line up to a remarkable level without increasing weight," said
S. Mark Hand, vice-president of sales and marketing for PLUS Vision. "At
2000 lumens, this projector is bright enough for any application, including
fully lit conference rooms, and at 5.6 pounds it is small enough to be shared
within an organization or taken on the road without a PC."
The U2-X2000 is packed with a feature set that can be utilized to maximize
the impact of any presentation. For example, with the U2-X2000's chalkboard
function, a presenter can use a mouse to draw images directly onto the screen,
adding relevant information and drawing attention to specific details. The
U2-X2000 also includes digital and manual zoom, manual focus, and digital
keystone correction functionality. A 3-in-1 remote manages projector settings,
PC mouse commands and includes a laser pointer.
PLUS Vision has enabled digital connectivity on the U2-X2000, including
a Digitial Video Interface (DVI) for high-quality digital-to-digital image
reproduction. This terminal emiminates the conversion to analog and thereby
allows the U2-X2000 to deliver a perfect image. The U2-X2000 includes full
multimedia capabilities and supports the latest video standards including
HDTV with 480p, 720P and 1080i High Definition imaging. With its intuitive
set-up, users can easily connect the projector to any video source and quickly
switch between PCs, DVDs, digital camcorders and TVs. The new unit is available
through the PLUS Vision Dealer network and can be viewed at plus-america.com.
